My skills first developed as a student at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. Then not too long after I began working exclusively with acrylic and canvas. I work with the canvas on the floor because I work with a fluid paint and this prevents the paint from running when I don’t want it to. Focusing on one piece, I regularly spend days or weeks at a time completing it. My paintings are a look into my mind, while other times they may have no meaning.
I find the creative process to be difficult, often questioning the image in my head for weeks before I start too position the paint on canvas. My inspiration comes from many different things; music, thoughts, life, images. Many times I let the image guide me to where it wants to go, typically ending in a place that I had never anticipated, which I find abstract painting allows me do the best.
