Janice Rae Pariza was born in Youngstown, Ohio in 1955 and raised in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Nova Scotia, Connecticut, New York & Florida. She has been painting since the age of five. A self taught painter, she supplemented her natural abilities by studying privately for 14 years from 1960 through 1974.
Upon graduating from Youngstown State University in 1977 she enlisted in the US Air Force. Known as a realist in the medium oil, her subject matter, style and medium has varied throughout the years. She currently exhibits in two Galleries; Houston, Texas and New Bern, North Carolina. Her Art can also be found in private collections in Malta and Spain as well as Manchester, England. Extensive travel in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean is reflected in her paintings, photography, drawings, pastels and sketches.
J. Rae's love of the West is depicted in imagery, thus her aptly named home & Studio; HeadWest. The original Oils and Drawings take the viewer on a fantasy tour.
