This amazing lamp is one of my masterpiece projects. All parts were done by me; the shade is entirely Japanese delicas, plus a few bits of shell and coral on the fringe; the shell base I hand selected at a shop in Ocean Beach, CA-drilled the holes and flattened the bottom so it does not rock; and all the hardware and wiring I did myself. (easier than you'd think) It took 100 hours to complete and there was no pattern or design drawn...it's all freestyle...one-bead-at-a-time peyote stitching. Truly a masterpiece! (if I do say so myself...=D) This lamp was entered in the 2003 Oregon State Fair and won three ribbons...First Place, Judge's Choice, and a Special Award...not too shabby.
