Neptune and its clouds
As a mythological figure, Neptune, is the Roman god of the sea; and like Barbados, a small island surrounded by ocean, also the native country of singer/songwriter Jennifer Mahon, its symbol is the Trident – a three pronged spear with which he [Neptune] calmed or brought storms and created earthquakes that shook the shores.
The planet Neptune, featured in this painting as the predominant blue backdrop to the figure, is a gas planet with a solid core believed to be about the mass of Earth. Neptune features powerful storm systems, such as the “dark spot” and the fastest winds in the solar system, reaching about 2000 Kilometres per hour.
The violent tempered mythological deity Neptune (to the Greeks he was knows as Poseidon) stands to represent Jennifer’s imposing presence and personality which can manifest itself as the calm of the Pacific or as a violent and destructive sea tempest that shakes the shores.
Neptune is a planet that like Saturn and Jupiter has its own internal heat source; it radiates twice as much heat as it receives from the Sun. The energy and ambition radiating from Jennifer is proof of an internal heat source, one that manifests itself with passion in her music, dialogue, arguments and physical sensuality.

Rockstar
“Rockstar” is a painting that represents the dreams and ambitions of the model, singer and songwriter Jennifer Mahon. The restful pose and content features are due to her dreams and the certainty that she has what she needs to achieve them. The sky has taken the shape of crystals and diamonds, representing not only glamour and wealth but also the figure’s state of mind, in crystallized order. Rocks like these are created under the Earth’s surface, beyond where the human eye can penetrate. Underground high temperatures and pressures push matter together until it crystallizes and can now withstand the great pressures surrounding it. These are characteristics that have shaped Jennifer throughout her life and continue to do so, until she surfaces, to rest among stars.
