DayGlo Tzolkin

DayGlo Tzolkin

(MamaBearOriginals)
The Tzolkin is the 13:20 frequency cycle that is repeated over and over again in the Mayan Calendar system. 13 Tones and 20 Solar Tribes make up the chart, in every possible combination totaling 260 kin. Each kin is equal to one day and combines the tone and tribe energies for each day.
This painting was done on canvas board, using acrylic, both standard and Fluorescent colors as well as Glow in the Dark and metallic pigments. Then coated with a glossy varnish to give the colors additional depth. Charged up with a blacklight, this piece is awesome in the blacklight *and* in the dark...

Oil and Acrylic

Oil and Acrylic

(LaurieMacheel)
Drawing has always been a major part of my life. It wasn't till recently that I decided to teach myself to paint. I enjoy every minute of it and will continue to be a passion of mine.
spring sketches

spring sketches

(Artist4xt)
The first picture is a bulletin board I'm doing for my 6-8th graders. I think I'm going to spray most of it, we'll see how much time I have for it, but that's the rough sketch. The other is a flower medley I put together while my girlfriend was doing her homework.

Big Blue Planet

Big Blue Planet

(RobKirbyson)
The planet is largely blue. Most organisms living on it are blissfully unaware of how vast it is and how one species – man – is having such a disastrous effect upon it. This frog’s vast environment is a jungle pool a few metres across. Perhaps one a human being has never looked into.
Peyote Stitch Lamps

Peyote Stitch Lamps

(MamaBearOriginals)
This amazing lamp is one of my masterpiece projects. All parts were done by me; the shade is entirely Japanese delicas, plus a few bits of shell and coral on the fringe; the shell base I hand selected at a shop in Ocean Beach, CA-drilled the holes and flattened the bottom so it does not rock; and all the hardware and wiring I did myself. (easier than you'd think) It took 100 hours to complete and there was no pattern or design drawn...it's all freestyle...one-b... peyote stitching. Truly a masterpiece! (if I do say so myself...=D) This lamp was entered in the 2003 Oregon State Fair and won three ribbons...First Place, Judge's Choice, and a Special Award...not too shabby.
The Mardi Gras Owl Mask

The Mardi Gras Owl Mask

(MamaBearOriginals)
This mask was created during my stay in San Diego in 2002/2003. I made this on the day before Mardi Gras that year. Took about 13 or so hours and each piece is free hand cut. Finishing touches of gold paint and glitter and Glow in the Dark paint, make this mask an eye-catcher in any lighting, especially black light. It is currently on loan for use in a photo shoot in Ashland, OR.
The Swordfish Bag

The Swordfish Bag

(MamaBearOriginals)
Inspired and created at Dreamlodge in Mt Shasta, CA in the Winter of '05/'06, the design is somewhat elven in nature and reminds me of the head of a swordfish.
Mixed elements of earth (the leather hide), air (the Amazonite cab), water (the Aquamarine nuggets), and Fire (Tiger's Eye, the solar plexus protector/shielder stone), and the protective qualities of the carved Yak bone from Tibet, make this magical bag perfect for a traveler.

The Fluorite Wand

The Fluorite Wand

(MamaBearOriginals)
The Fluorite Wand is the second piece of copper hammerwork I've done. Not bad for an amateur... The back of this little wand is a sweet spiral, circling and embracing the piece of Fluorite.

The Salmon Tourmaline Pendant

The Salmon Tourmaline Pendant

(MamaBearOriginals)
This sweet salmon colored tourmaline with the green termination cap was wrapped in silver and screaming to be let out and put with copper. This is my first piece of copper hammering I ever did...the effect is absolutely stunning...
