The Fluorite Wand

The Fluorite Wand

(MamaBearOriginals)
The Fluorite Wand is the second piece of copper hammerwork I've done. Not bad for an amateur... The back of this little wand is a sweet spiral, circling and embracing the piece of Fluorite.

The Salmon Tourmaline Pendant

The Salmon Tourmaline Pendant

(MamaBearOriginals)
This sweet salmon colored tourmaline with the green termination cap was wrapped in silver and screaming to be let out and put with copper. This is my first piece of copper hammering I ever did...the effect is absolutely stunning...

Peyote Stitch Projects

Peyote Stitch Projects

(MamaBearOriginals)
I started beading when I was 15 yrs old and have moved through many styles and mediums. I started doing Peyote Stitch around 1998, and then discovered Miyuki Delicas around 2000. I was hooked! The sheer workability of the beads inspired creation after creation and only a few pieces were able to be photo-ed before going off to various homes. Some pieces are still available.
The Rasta Jar

The Rasta Jar

(MamaBearOriginals)
The curves of this jar presented a challenge in the creation of this piece. All boundaries had to be crossed just to make this work. I basically had to build long tabs to create each window and then reconnect them all at the perfect moment at the bottom of the jar. Most of the tabs were too short so as I connected each tab I also had to lengthen each piece by at least 3 rows. The process worked and this is the final product...

Gemstone Jewelry

Gemstone Jewelry

(MamaBearOriginals)
I transitioned about 2 years ago from mostly peyote stitch to mostly gemstone jewelry. Since then I have learned an incredible amount about stones...names, properties, formations, healing properties. All while realizing it's just not possible to know it all!

6 Ft Chaos Necklace

6 Ft Chaos Necklace

(MamaBearOriginals)
This crazy piece of randomness has almost every gemstone you could imagine, with some exceptions of course. Everything from Turquoise to Emerald to Kyanite and Amber and Opal. My favorite way to wear it with the Turquoise sitting on my crown chakra...a very grounding and calming effect.

Amazonite Wrap Necklace

Amazonite Wrap Necklace

(MamaBearOriginals)
The pendant for this piece is nice Amazonite cab, wrapped with Sterling wire and pearls and Raspberry Quartz. The necklace is wire links with pearls, amazonite, Raspberry quartz and Blue Coral. A very oceany effect.
Amber Wrap Necklace

Amber Wrap Necklace

(MamaBearOriginals)
This piece of Baltic Amber was so fun to wrap...I chose to wrap it simply to show off the form and the bugs inside. I counted at least 12-15 bugs inside of it. The varying colors of the necklace seperated by faceted garnets created a stunningly glowing creation.
The Aqua & Pearl Set

The Aqua & Pearl Set

(MamaBearOriginals)
The spiral pendant components in this piece were handmade by me, as well as the toggle clasp. The white pearls, spaced with Aquamarine and set off by the dark blue/green pearls, create a soft and elegant look.
Charles Albert Blue Topaz Necklace

Charles Albert Blue Topaz Necklace

(MamaBearOriginals)
I found this great pendant by Charles Albert of New York at the Tucson Gem Show, and having just bought a fabulous strand of sweet topaz beads, I thought this would be a perfect fit. The druzy quartz is anodized with platinum to give it a sparkly blue, pink and lavender sheen, and the faceted blue topaz swings back and forth within the circle. The necklace is mainly faceted topaz of varying shades and is spaced with silver beads and pearls.
Tropical Island Necklace

Tropical Island Necklace

(MamaBearOriginals)
This piece reminds be of a sunset on a beach in Hawaii, with the palm trees waving the warm breeze. The materials used are Malachite, Jade, Raspberry Quartz, Rose Quartz, Labradorite, and freshwater pearls.
Moldavite/Seraphinite Necklace

Moldavite/Seraphi... Necklace

(MamaBearOriginals)
The combination of these two stones, Moldavite-which is from a meteor crashing to earth, and Seraphinite-the stone that helps us communicate with the angels, creates a vivdly unearthly effect, raising one's vibration into heartspace and connection with other realms and dimensions. The moss agate helps ground one to the earth providing an anchor to this dimension.
The Fairy Moonstone necklace

The Fairy Moonstone necklace

(MamaBearOriginals)
This sweet Fairy necklace is all moonstone and silver and went as a Christmas gift to a good friend of mine. She wears it every single day and gets a lot of attention while wearing it.

Artist Bio - Mama Bear / Jasmine di'Vine

(MamaBearOriginals)
Born & raised in Salem, Oregon...I have been beading since I was 15 years old. I am primarily self-taught, picking up inspiration from the many styles around me and creative ways to create something new. My beadwork has morphed many times over the years and I'm always curious to see what will come next. I'm particularly fond of custom creations and commissions, so if you want something made...email me. My art has, in recent years, gone beyond just beads, but into leather and stones and metal also. I am constantly traveling to shows and festivals mostly on the west coast and Tucson gem show yearly, and I have recently (Dec'06) relocated to the Big Island to be inspired. And with a brand new much-better-resol... camera, I'll be taking LOTS of pictures of my art. =D
Mahalo for checking out my photo art gallery!!! And
Aloooooooooooooooo HA!
