Artist Bio - Mama Bear / Jasmine di'Vine

Artist Bio - Mama Bear / Jasmine di'Vine

(MamaBearOriginals)
Born & raised in Salem, Oregon...I have been beading since I was 15 years old. I am primarily self-taught, picking up inspiration from the many styles around me and creative ways to create something new. My beadwork has morphed many times over the years and I'm always curious to see what will come next. I'm particularly fond of custom creations and commissions, so if you want something made...email me. My art has, in recent years, gone beyond just beads, but into leather and stones and metal also. I am constantly traveling to shows and festivals mostly on the west coast and Tucson gem show yearly, and I have recently (Dec'06) relocated to the Big Island to be inspired. And with a brand new much-better-resol... camera, I'll be taking LOTS of pictures of my art. =D
Mahalo for checking out my photo art gallery!!! And
Aloooooooooooooooo HA!

abandoned brewery

abandoned brewery

(JimG)
This old structure has a series of holes leading all the way up through the five stories, to an opening into the sky. a single tree grows right through the opening, rooted in the cracked cement and piled debris of bottles, bags, and feces. Besides a nice homeless fellow who lives on the top floor the building is left for wanderers and explorers like us. We drank and filled the walls with debris of our own like many have before us. The north Philadelphia building one block off 2nd and poplar is probably already demolished and dreaming of more sterile grounds.
California adventure

California adventure

(JimG)
Tasha and me recently took a trip through the West coast for the first time. With the help of a lot of friends, and free floors to sleep on, we made it through and left some marks along the way. Here are some photos and documentation of our work and adventures.
With the aid of some other artists and freaks we did some pieces and group project work. Using the overlapping of everyones images, stencils, and xerox copies, we made some collective effort boards...condoning that we do eat scrambled eggs for breakfast every day.

abandoned oil refinery

abandoned oil refinery

(JimG)
The abandoned oil refinery near 49th and woodland was home to many people of different kinds. The walls were filled with graph art, paste art, squatter scribbles, and artistic decay of all sorts. Here is some work me and tash, and various others have contributed. The premesis was recently demolished and now these pictures are basically all thats left.
Henna

Henna

(Holiday)
My job in Wildwood in the summer-time, is as a henna tattoo artist. I've been doing it now for about 3 years at various locations. I draw little doodles that you pick out of a book of flash, on a part of your body, with this stuff called henna. Selling is a huge part, and I'm very good at my job.

Henna originated somewhere in India. Its traditionally caled Mendi and is used as a good luck charm of sorts at weddings. It is a paste made from the henna plant and mixed with oils and lemon juice etc. When you place it on your skin for long periods of time (longer then the hour that most tourists do) it will produde a redish brown stain that lasts for about 10 days.

These are a few good ones that i have photos of. The only original design is the guns.

I've done some really beautifully detailed stuff. Some really weird stuff. (That i wish I had pictures of) I meet amazing people, and make alot of money. Its been long hours,(up to 16 a day) but I wouldn't trade the memories for the world.

Ghost of me

Ghost of me

(Holiday)
What remained of a then bruised, now broken, friendship.

All thats left here is a ghost of me.

Once again. I'm included in the photos thanks to that good ole self timer and tripod.

Treasure Box

Treasure Box

(MamaBearOriginals)
This little box was fun. It started out completely blond and has been transformed into a treasure chest befitting any self respecting pirate...(or a pirate's monkey anyway...). I shined it up with a gold wash to give it the extra underwater magical wet look.
spring sketches

spring sketches

(Artist4xt)
The first picture is a bulletin board I'm doing for my 6-8th graders. I think I'm going to spray most of it, we'll see how much time I have for it, but that's the rough sketch. The other is a flower medley I put together while my girlfriend was doing her homework.

scaner study

(fashonkore)
all of these were done useing only a scaner and things i could find in the art room(yes the guitar was in there). all the weird ness was done by jsut moveing an item as it was scaned. i'm nowhere nears done doing this and i plan to do some rele kool stuff like this in the futuer but this is the start
Big Blue Planet

Big Blue Planet

(RobKirbyson)
The planet is largely blue. Most organisms living on it are blissfully unaware of how vast it is and how one species – man – is having such a disastrous effect upon it. This frog’s vast environment is a jungle pool a few metres across. Perhaps one a human being has never looked into.
dylan at julians

dylan at julians

(fashonkore)
it seems like more and more band type ppl are getting cameos in my pics just because ya know...its fun they look cool in pics so why not take em

we're in julians house... he lives in a factory in the ghetto... its cool

DayGlo Tzolkin

DayGlo Tzolkin

(MamaBearOriginals)
The Tzolkin is the 13:20 frequency cycle that is repeated over and over again in the Mayan Calendar system. 13 Tones and 20 Solar Tribes make up the chart, in every possible combination totaling 260 kin. Each kin is equal to one day and combines the tone and tribe energies for each day.
This painting was done on canvas board, using acrylic, both standard and Fluorescent colors as well as Glow in the Dark and metallic pigments. Then coated with a glossy varnish to give the colors additional depth. Charged up with a blacklight, this piece is awesome in the blacklight *and* in the dark...

Osho Zen Tarot sign

Osho Zen Tarot sign

(MamaBearOriginals)
This sign I co-created with my good friend Julie "Bird" Moore. She has been reading Osho Zen Tarot for people for more than a decade and has outstanding results.
For this sign, she gave an idea of some elements she wanted to have in the sign and then let me have artistic license. I hand drafted it (with no ruler or other tools, just my eyeballs and a rubberband for reference) and then painted it... not too shabby if I do say so myself...
